With its origins dating back to 1569 and after transformations introduced by secularised church power, the Braunschweigische Klosterfonds founded by Herzog Julius became one of the most important constants of the cultural region of Braunschweig.
Mission
To promotes and preserves the cultural and historical interests of the former country Brunswick. With the proceeds of the subfund Braunschweigischer United monastery and university funds supports the Braunschweig Cultural Heritage Foundation religious, cultural and social projects. The key to reaping the benefits of the subfund Brunswick Foundation, the Technical University, the State Museum of Braunschweig and the Braunschweig State Theatre come. For Lower Saxony, the Foundation has taken over the organization of the regional culture promotion beyond.

Their activities include the preservation of cultural property in the Brunswick Monastery and the Brunswick Foundation, and the continued operation of churches and monasteries under the ownership or care of the foundation. The study fund of the SBK provides youth with opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have. The 2007 Music Stipend is an example of young talented musicians being able to follow their musical dreams through advanced lessons in music funded by the SKB study fund.
