PEX
PEX is where the European philanthropy infrastructure meets. PEXcommunity was jointly co-created at the PEXforum 2020 in Madrid, the first Europe-wide event bringing together leaders and experts from national, regional and European philanthropy support organisations.
Who?
PEX is a community of people working in the European philanthropy ecosystem. PEX provides a unique space to create a European philanthropy identity as common ground to jointly advance the philanthropy ecosystem in a changing world. And, PEX is co-created by this group of brilliant, inspiring and dedicated group of people, the PEXcommunity who wish to be a part of shaping this long-term and rewarding journey to drive collective learning, collective imagining and collective acting.

PEXcommunity, jointly co-created at the PEXforum 2020 in Madrid, stands for collaboration, diversity, creativity and exchange in the European philanthropic sector. It unites more than 60 philanthropy networks, among them national, regional and thematic, organisations.
What & why?
To break the silos, to make sure that our efforts complement each other rather than compete with each other, to realize goals and ambitions, to create a common European philanthropy identity, we gather representatives of philanthropy infrastructure organisations in Europe, under the PEXcommunity in different formats and set-ups.

PEX Co-creation Council
The first PEX Co-creation Council was set up in October 2020 to design the PEXforum 2021 (27 & 28 January). Later, as a result of the participatory process which is in the very existence of the PEXcommunity, the Council agreed in February 2021 to establish a more permanent Co-creation Council for the PEX to represent the diversity and expertise of the PEXcommunity to jointly develop PEX in the future.
The elections for the next PEX Co-creation Council took place in early June. With a high turnout rate, the PEXcommunity voted for 12 PEX Co-creation Council members, – 10 representatives of Philanthropy Support Organisations and 2 representatives of PEX partners. The new Council will continue collectively shaping the future of PEX, with the PEXcommunity. The newly elected PEX Co-creation Council for the season of 2021-2022 is as follows:

The purpose of the newly established Council is to facilitate collective vision and action, challenge, support and enable PEX. The members of the Council will commit their time, knowledge, experience and networks to continue building PEX as a space for collective learning, imagination and acting for Europe’s philanthropy infrastructure. To achieve this purpose, Council will have general quarterly meetings throughout the year, and preparation meetings for the annual PEXforum.
The new PEX Co-creation Council will have its kick-off meeting jointly with the former PEX Co-creation Council in a handover meeting in early September. The Council will start preparations for the next PEXforum 2022 which is planned to take place in Istanbul, Turkey.
