Base Camp

Base Camp is an experimental project to combat school inequality via the creation of educational communities of excellence that offer assistance to studies, laboratories for teachers and a rich offer of cultural events.

Run by a collaboration of organisations including Enel Cuore Onlus, CESIE, Dedalus, Laudes Cultural Association and Social Cooperative Parsec, Base Camp aims to create three educational communities located in Rome, Naples and Palermo that will involve educational institutions, teachers, students and their families. The locations where the project takes place will be renovated and will allow three teams of diversified educational professionals to work in each location, composed of young teachers, educators and psychologists as well as “cultural animator”.

The experimental approach of the project is based mostly on a principle of personalisation that requires a work in depth and in intimacy, with a teaching-learning relationship one-to-one, two-to-one or even three-to-one. It will be aimed at a small number of direct users and will follow the pedagogical and educational model developed by Laudes Cultural Association.
